How to Use Rowing Machine

Sweating it out on the rowing machine is a great cardio workout, and unlike the treadmill, it’s usually sitting empty so you can get on and get working at whenever. Included perk: the rowing machine also works the upper back, arms, legs, and, yes, even core. And while it may seem like an evident movement, there’s absolutely some technique involved. Watch as endurance athlete Josh Crosby from Equinoxteaches us ways to master the stroke and shares his tips for maximizing this workout.

When I row on a rowing machine I always get lower back problems, I always
try to keep my back straight but my lower back always curves.

  18. Niels g says:

What am I doing wrong ?

  19. Jonny Deth says:

I can’t help but be critical since the actual motion for fan wheel
resistance rowers is nothing like rowing an actual boat. I get it, they’re
favored over piston rowers because they have smoother, less exerting action
but the piston rower replicates the real deal very accurately. On a piston
rower I get the exact same feel of when I’m rowing a boat in lake Erie.
